Roxy is a sweet 4 yr-old Boxer Cross girl that was taken from her mom because the Animal Control Officer deemed that Roxy “looked” like a Pit Bull. Ontario has a BSL in place which places Roxy automatically on death row, unless we can have the time to appeal. Roxy has never tried to hurt anyone. She is a sweet, loving, gentle girl. She has never shown aggression towards anyone, or any other dog, but because she lives in Ontario, where Pit Bulls are banned. Now she has had a euthanization order placed on her based on her “looks”. Unless we rescue Roxy, she could be euthanized by January 19, 2011. *** UPDATE *** Oshawa Animal Control has said that the reason they took the dog, was never because of her appearance, but because she was acting aggressively and frightening people. Reacting to their phone calls, they seized the dog. The situation has escalated and is much more dire. In an earlier statement, they claimed they had never had any problems with her. Please it is imperative that we continue to share this, now more than ever.
Roxy now has 4 days before the order will be fulfilled, and today is her 6th day under seizure, with Animal Control – Oshawa. PLEASE HELP. Let’s appeal this law. Roxy belongs in the loving arms of her owner, pictured in this petition. Please sign this petition.
