With the Territorial Elections looming in front of residents/taxpayers across the Northwest Territories much needs to be considered.
A Facebook page has been launched whereby all candidates running may be asked specific questions, as well as individuals may also post there own comments and raise issues. This is an open group:

In a prior post this writer brought to the attention of readers just how specific MLA’s and GNWT Ministers actually voted regarding the deadly loophole within the new NWT Dog Act.
This question has now been posted on the NWT Elections facebook page:
Question to All Candidates: After my three years of battling the Territorial Govt for a Comprehensive Animal Protection Act and drawing Ministerial attention to the facts pertaining to the direct Link Between Animal Cruelty and Human Violence, as well as the statistics that the NWT has the highest rate of Violent Crime per capita than anywhere else in Canada; given the protest to remove the reworded deadly loophole in the new NWT Dog Act, which a number of GNWT Ministers actually voted to keep in, going against many of their constituents, and thereby outnumbering the MLA’s who wanted it removed; and given the fact the NWT remains listed as“Best Place to Abuse Animals” and now for the third year in a row by the Animal Legal Defense Fund; given that the motion carried In the Legislative Assembly to continue working towards the Comprehensive Animal Protection Act that I wanted in the first place : Which of you, as candidates plan to keep the NWT in the Dark Ages and refuse to bring into effect very real Comprehensive Animal Protection that will live up to the standards as set across the rest of Canada? Which of you as candidates will focus on bringing the NWT into the real world and push for Comprehensive Animal Protection that will live up to or even surpass the legislation standards as set by the rest of Canada? What will any of you do to ensure that properly trained Animal Cruelty Investigators are established? What will any of you do to improve veterinary services and accessibility across the NWT? What will any of you do to expand the current Sahtu Program? What if anything will any of you do to draw needed attention and focus to the fact that that neglected, abused and suffering animal chained in someone’s backyard may be indicative of potential domestic abuse and violence within that family home?
Below you will find out just how your MLA’s and Ministers actually voted: just go to the link provided:
