Original 2008 post about Brindi

Jimi say, “Turn her loose, baby!”
Brindi has never, ever, bitten a child or an adult. Nor has she ever inflicted anything worse more than a few tiny “spots” (direct quote from dog owner) on another dog. She has what is called “good bite inhibition”. And because of that, and the fact that her excellent trainer stands behind her and her guardian, Francesca Rogier, she should be freed and given the same tolerance and understanding Halifax animal control gives to scores of other dogs who have committed worse transgressions!
But despite this, her good obedience training (Francesca’s hard work) and several positive behavioral assessments, Halifax still locked her up for nearly four years. And is still locking her up. Her health has suffered, needless to say. A trial is underway and it does not look very good at the moment, hence the need to solicit help from higher powers.
A lot of people have turned a cold shoulder to Brindi and F… more

I would adopt this dog today. The court needs to open its blind eyes and see this precious animal as she is. Kind and sweet and giving. Shame on them.
The word really needs to get out about this. Come on everyone – take a few moments each and everyday to post and re-post on all your social networks. Contact anyone you can think of. Both dog and owner are suffering.

The nation of Canada is heading for the same destiny as Babylon. We no longer use kindness or justice with the animals, the environment or the disenfranchised. Instead we do sin and violence not only against the seals, but we send foster children into foster homes with guardians who are convicted of sexual perversion. The excuse for doing this crime to innocent children according to the social workers who place these children with predators is that there is a desperate need to place kids into homes so the solution turn them over to pedophiles. Democracy is obstructed in our elections, seals are
murdered despite the world’s demand for sympathy and justice, innocent children are forwarded to the custody of the vile and the wicked….what a country! One word best describes this nation of brutality and bloodshed….DESPICABLE.
You need to post the Mayor’s phone number, so people can respond to this, that poor dog must be returned to it’s rightful owner. Govt never should take away a pet -especially Brindi -who has never bitten anyone.
This is a tragic story and this dog is rotting her life away with no end in sight. The distress and pain in her eyes is very hard to witness. The most practical solution would be to release Brandi to her owner under condition that the owner relocate with her to a more remote location, and keep her in an enclosed or fenced yard away from neighbors and others. This dog and her owner deserve a life together and almost 4 years in a shelter is a fate worse than death.
Don’t let up on this cause. Click on the link to the video and get other addresses and phone numbers of Halifax officials that can be contacted. Share the info with all your friends and network the heck out of it.
Here’s what I sent him. I have also sent a similar e-mail to the Mayor of Halifax. It only takes a few moments to do this. I also am posting the phone numbers and e-mail addresses everywhere I can.

I am asking you to please intervene and investigate the case of Brindi the dog. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5fPT9fL_q-E This truly has gone on long enough. The suffering caused to both human and animal in this case is immense. It has been years and now is the time to do the right thing and release Brindi to her owner to live out her remaining time. This is truly causing a blight on the city of Halifax in the eyes of many of us who have followed this case. It makes me never want to visit Halifax. It is actually quite frightening to think that a few government officials can literally shatter this woman’s world. It’s truly inexcusable. Please act on it now. Thank you.
